Gongkwon Yusul Instructor's Program
Gongkwon Yusul Australia: Instructors Program
Gongkwon Yusul Australia runs a series of seminars specifically for those interested in gaining accreditation under Master Kang to enable them to teach Gongkwon Yusul.
These seminars are aimed at experienced marital artists who are interesting in gaining instructor accreditation with Gongkwon Yusul International.
They are designed to provide knowledge and skills of Gongkwon Yusul to experienced martial artists, enabling them to be graded at an accelerated rate developing the high standards required to achieve eventual Black Belt rank under Master Kang.
A few important things to note:
- Attendance at the instructors seminars does not provide automatic Black Belt accreditation; only if a candidate is willing to work hard to gain GKYS skills, and has the correct aptitude and attitude then they are included as part of the program at the discretion for the Gongkwon Yusul chief representative for Australia.
- There is no way of "buying" qualifications or rank! While prior skills are recognised , so that the GKYS material is taught at an appropriately accelerated rate, even a martial artist with good pre-existing skills needs to be highly motivated, and prepared to work on GKYS material outside of seminars to achieve Black Belt candidate level.
- A Black belt grading in Gongkwon Yusul is not automatic entitlement to open a gym as a Gongkwon Yusul instructor. Their are further requirements and conditions, including Gym and membership registration with GKYS International Headquarters to be accredited to teach Gongkwon Yusul. If it is the persons' intention to teach Gongkwon Yusul then as could be expected, a recognized black belt in Gongkwon Yusul is the minimum requirement to become an affiliated instructor.
Currently on the program we have individuals from four different states of Australia, many with prior advanced training or senior rankings in arts such as Taekwondo, Hapkido or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
With the first Black belt grading, held in Melbourne during April 2009, Gongkwon Yusul Australia's Instructors Program is now credited with producing a group of highly skilled Black Belts personally graded by Gonkwon Yusul founder, Master Kang.
Planning is underway for Instructor's Program dates for the rest of 2009 and into 2010.
