First combined grading for Queensland

On Saturday, 30th January 2010, a grading and seminar was conducted by Chief Instructor Vincent Bacon at the Gold Coast gym of GKYS Australia. This was the first time members from our newest established club, in Brisbane, attended a grading.

Being a (typically!) hot & humid Gold Coast summer day, everyone had to work particularly hard for the grading.

  • Ian Fraser

From the Gold Coast club
Blue belts:

A well earned congratulation to the 2 Gold Coast students who showed excellent spirit & determination, covering every single belt level requirement, including sparring & grappling, over several hours in the challenging heat.

Adam Sharplin & Kristy Riesenweber - our newest Red belts!

Just as impressive was, despite the heat and length of the grading there was a 100% turn out for the 2 hours seminar which followed the grading!

The day finished with a presentation to our newest branch instructor Gary Jennings being presented with his official GKYS gym certificate from the GKYS headquarters in Korea. Presented by Vincent on behalf of Master Kang.

Gary was also presented his blue instructors uniform as recognition of thanks from Gongkwon Yusul Australia for his efforts in passing on our unique martial art to others.

Well done to Instructors Gary Jennings (Brisbane) and Joel Borgeaud (GC) for their work & enthusiasm in teaching GKYS to such a high standard.

Ho-Shin!
